The Return

The Return: Beginning Again After Endings
Every ending is a circle closing into beginning.
The return is not going backward; it is stepping forward into wholeness.

After a week of writing about thresholds, flames, vessels, silence, threads, and the unknown, I keep coming back here, to the return.

It’s easy to think of endings as failures. Relationships that couldn’t hold. Projects that ran out of steam. Paths that turned into dead ends. I’ve sat in those endings with anger, with grief, with the ache of wondering if I wasted my time.

But when I look closer, I see that endings are only one half of the rhythm. Every time something falls away, something else is making space to begin. It doesn’t always happen on our timeline, and it rarely feels neat. But the return is real: we circle back, changed, stronger, carrying pieces of what we’ve learned.

When I crossed the threshold at the start of this week, I wasn’t sure what I’d find on the other side. The flame reminded me that light doesn’t have to be grand to be powerful. The vessel showed me that even cracked containers can hold what matters. The silence taught me to listen. The thread reminded me of connection. The unknown forced me to stand inside questions without rushing toward answers.

Now, in the return, I see the pattern: beginnings are not linear. They are circular, weaving us back to ourselves again and again.

I think of entrepreneurship here too, how it isn’t one launch or one success, but a series of returns. I think of relationships, how each day is both an ending and a beginning, a cycle of showing up again. I think of love, how it survives not in constant growth but in circling back to the commitment, even after rupture.

The return is not about “going back” to who we were. It’s about arriving back at the center, carrying everything we’ve lived through, and saying: I begin again.

Ritual Invitation

Walk one slow circle around a room in your home.
As you turn, breathe in what you’ve carried this week.
When you complete the circle, whisper to yourself: “I begin again.” And so, I will be having my Sunday Ritual Session online again. Join me if you dare. Let me know in the comments if you wish an invitation for CET 8pm tonight (2:00 PM Eastern Time (ET / EST/EDT) or 1:00 PM Central Time (CT / CST/CDT)

Your Turn

What return are you standing in now?
Where do you feel yourself circling back — not to repeat, but to begin again with new strength?
