Introducing the 2024 Gratitude Moon Phase Calendar, a beautifully designed guide to help you cultivate gratitude and radiate positivity. As the moon waxes and wanes from October through Thanksgiving, this printable calendar offers powerful affirmations and spiritual messages with each phase, inviting you to reflect on your blessings, challenges, and the promise of new beginnings.

New Moon: A time to plant seeds of hope and let go of what no longer serves you. First Quarter: Embrace balance and express gratitude for the strength gained through challenges. Full Moon: Celebrate your abundance and give thanks for the light in your life. Waning Moon: Let go, reflect, and prepare to receive even more blessings.

As we align ourselves with the natural cycles of the moon, we can let gratitude flood our hearts, creating a ripple effect of positivity that extends far beyond ourselves. When we focus on the good, on the gifts we’ve received, we let in the light—and that light can shine not just in our own lives, but throughout the world.

And I have more coloring pages for you as requested!

As autumn settles in, the days grow shorter and the air crisper, there’s a quiet time of year that invites us to look inward, to reflect on our lives and those who have walked this earth before us. It’s during this time, traditionally celebrated by many as a moment when the veil between worlds is thinnest, that we can feel the presence of spirits—those who have come and gone, those who walk with us still, and even those who are yet to be.

Growing up, my grandmother would tell me stories about her ancestors—men and women whose lives, though distant, still echoed in the fabric of our family. She used to say, "They are now part of us living here," as she pointed to her heart. At the time, I didn’t fully understand, but as I grew older, I began to feel those quiet whispers myself. Sometimes they came to me in moments of stillness—a gentle nudge, a reminder that we are all part of something larger, connected by the threads of time.

This time of year feels especially potent for those reflections. Whether it’s through honoring our ancestors, taking a mindful pause, or simply allowing ourselves to slow down, it offers a unique opportunity to reconnect with our roots and the spirits that walk with us. It’s not about fear or the unknown but about understanding that we are part of a greater cycle, and that connection is always there, waiting for us to reach out.

I started coloring again as my second child discovered crayons. Watching them explore those simple tools reconnected me to my own childhood, a time when I found joy in the small things, like filling a blank page with colors. There’s something meditative about sitting down with a blank page, allowing colors to flow as you breathe and reflect. The act of coloring doesn’t just calm the mind—it opens the heart. As my hand moved over the paper, I could feel the presence of something beyond myself—a whisper, a memory, a feeling of being grounded in both the past and present.

This Halloween season, I invite you to join me in exploring this gentle art, as a way to reflect on the spirits who have come before us, those who walk beside us, and those who will come after. Each stroke of color can be an intention—a way to reconnect with our ancestors, to honor the earth beneath our feet, and to consider the legacy we are leaving for those who follow.

As you color, think of it as a quiet moment of gratitude and remembrance. The pages, with their swirling designs of spirits and veils, offer a space for you to meditate on the connection between worlds. Let your thoughts drift to those you’ve lost, those you love, and those you’ve yet to meet. Allow your spirit to reconnect with theirs, letting the act of coloring become a ritual of mindfulness and reflection.

We are never truly alone. The whispers of the past, present, and future surround us always, and through mindful practice, we can hear them more clearly.

Whether you're new to coloring or returning to it, know that this gentle act can help you feel more present, more connected, and more at peace with the flow of life. Take this time to reflect, to honor, and to remember—both for yourself and for those who walk beside you in spirit.

Why Bother?

Because science says so! Hand-mind exercises, like coloring, help calm your racing thoughts, activate your sensory cortex, and can even spark some "alpha" cool brain waves. And guess what? Ancient Wiccans and Pagans knew the secret to stress relief long before we had apps for everything. They practiced gratitude ceremonies—taking time to thank the elements, nature, and themselves (high five, ancient humans!).

Coloring can be YOUR modern ceremony. All you need is some color pencils, chalk, or watercolors, and this awesome booklet to start your very own Zen-tastic weekend!

  3. Ground Yourself: Before diving in, do a quick grounding exercise. No yoga poses required, just imagine roots growing from your feet into the earth, anchoring you to some serious calm vibes.
  4. Color Like You Mean It: Let your hands do the talking. Whether you’re swirling watercolors or scribbling with chalk, let the colors flow. Don’t overthink it—just color your stress away one stroke at a time.
  5. Admire Your Art... and Your Sanity: Once you’re done, take a step back and admire your masterpiece. Did you just unlock a new level of zen? Probably. Go ahead and give yourself a little Namaste because, guess what, you totally rocked this coloring thing.

Mindfulness in a World Full of Stress: How to Intercept and Relieve Its Grip

Stress can be debilitating. It clouds judgment, affects our decisions, and prevents us from being fully mindful. Research has consistently shown that under stress, our brains enter a heightened state of fight-or-flight, causing us to make poor choices. This stems from the release of cortisol, a hormone that limits our ability to think clearly, problem-solve, or stay present.

Psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s groundbreaking research on flow gives us a way to shift attention away from stress. His work reveals that when we become fully immersed in a creative task—whether through art, music, or writing—we enter a state of flow. In this state, time seems to fade, and we can intercept stress as our focus shifts entirely to the task at hand. This state of deep engagement not only improves mental well-being but also helps us break free from the stress cycle.

So, how do we stop stress before it takes over? One of the quickest and most effective methods is boxed breathing. Various cultures have known and practiced this for centuries. In Buddhism, it’s called Anapanasati. Pagans have long used rhythmic breathing in rituals, while many other spiritual and healing traditions across the globe emphasize the importance of breathwork. Boxed breathing works by grounding us in the present moment, slowing our heart rate, and triggering the parasympathetic nervous system to calm the body.

Our ancestors faced immediate dangers like predators, while today, stress arises from sources like the economy, politics, aging parents, illnesses, and caregiving. But our bodies can’t distinguish between these modern stressors and ancient threats. The result? Chronic stress that wears us down mentally and physically, and unlike in the past, we don’t have the natural release mechanisms.

You’re not alone in feeling this way. In recent months, we’ve seen major companies announce layoffs, economic uncertainties continue to ripple across industries, and political tensions rise both globally and locally. Many of us are navigating these challenges while caring for aging parents or facing personal health issues. The weight of these combined stresses can feel overwhelming, and they impact all of us in ways we sometimes don't even realize. As someone who cares for my sister, who has Rett syndrome, I can tell you firsthand that caregiving takes its toll. Studies show that caregivers, healthcare workers, social workers, police, and rescue workers face immense amounts of stress. A 2022 report found that over 60% of healthcare workers experience burnout, and programs are slowly being implemented to help. Yet, we have a long way to go.

That’s why focusing on stress relief is vital, especially through mindfulness practices. Let’s take the first step toward a healthier mind. Here’s a one-minute stress relief poster—a visual guide to breathing exercises you can use at home or work. Print it out, put it on your wall, and make a habit of using it daily. This small act of mindfulness could be your first step toward relieving the burden of stress.

Join our community of like-minded individuals who practice mindfulness, share positive influence, and remind each other of stress-relief techniques. Together, we can build an engaging and supportive space where we all thrive. If this message resonates with you, please share it and the stress-relief poster with anyone who might benefit. Let’s help each other navigate life’s challenges.
